The Future of Paper Books

   When most of us were growing up, well, most of the documents or generally reading material was paper. The simplest of the electric gadgets like the mobile phones were not in use, actually the kind of advanced gadgets of communications were the landline telephones which by the way were  only used for audio communications. Messages were sent via postcards, telegrams, letters or perhaps a fax machine which only assisted in fast transmission of the message (which were also countable).
         Today the postal corporations are almost going out of business with the adoption of the letter ‘e’ to every other thing. You may think the addition of it only changes the pronunciations or distorts the grammar but a whole different meaning. Mails have become electronic, telegrams are replaced by text messages and most importantly paper books by e-books. The whole package comes with lots of good things; less space, more accessibility, cheaper, you name it. Do paper books, which in my opinion are the only species fighting extinction, have a future? Will they still be in the light in the next couple of years?
            I am afraid the chances are narrow, ask me why and I will give a gazillion reasons. First of all the generation which is supposedly considered to be loyal to the books has literally divorced them for the new babes in town, the e-books. People, who are supposed to be defending and fighting for a place for the future in the generation of today, are the ones actually opening the gates for the coming of the anti-paper. Somehow I guess that the paper being in jeopardy gives serves as an advantage to the crying species of the human race. This is attributed by the go-green initiatives to save trees hence the world. The human race being one of the most selfish of the creatures has to protect their habitat. Fare thee well, paper books.
